Cats of Azure Haus

Woodworking
Cats are majestic and behave as an animal spoiled in nature. Honestly I am not a fan of cats. I love dogs a real man's best friend. Sad to say after my 3 dogs died a few years ago, cats have overrun this place. Azure Haus is some kind of home to a few stray cats. These cats even a have few kittens who are now also cats and another batch of kittens. They do have names but I doubt that they know their names. "Spots" the male cat likes to rub his back around your legs but he is just to dirty to pet. "Snow cap" the mama cat who is just too feral because of trauma, even during the time you are trying to give her food she…

Reviving the old IPhone 6

Mobile
Smart gadgets are time bombs, they are just as good as long as the battery is good. Battery replacement usually range from the upper 1000PHP price range. Doing it DIY is much cheaper, if you have the guts for it. The IPhone 6 is not a water resistant phone, there should be no adhesives and it is easy to open. The tools: Pentalope screw bitsPhilips Suction cupNylon spudger Start by setting the suction cup on the LCD. Simply un screw the pentalopes at the bottom of the phone. The LCD will not simply pop-off. We need to pry carefully for the clips, Start off from the right side going to the left. The LCD should wiggle and move until it can be lifted. Lift it carefully since it is still…

Haitus? Oh no not really but just some promise and excuse.

Events
My last post was dated November/2019, almost 2 months ago. There were so many things that took place since my last post and so many excuses. My plan to write down each time something comes to mind and review it later is really not working. I have a lot of drafts but have not yet finished the review. The cycle of starting something and not finishing it is well starting again. December was plainly so sad and so happy. So let me do better this year.

Circular saw tracks, introducing the Bosch FSN 800

Woodworking
Working with a circular saw makes you come across the need for a guide fence so that the cut is a straight line. Bosch does not have guide fence but they do have something different a Saw track. Unboxing... This came with a rather big box. A lot bigger than the rail. Yeah this does a great job protecting the rail. First impression The quality is as expected a product from Bosch. The rail is made up of aluminum, edged in plastic. The bottom side reveals the rubber which holds the rail in place. The rubber runner really works, the rail does not have any movement even without a clamp. My GKS 12V-Li fits like a glove, there is no gap with the work and the rail. The rail guide…

Sony Xperia Z5 a case of bloating and shrinking battery.

Mobile
The second Android phone that i have was a Sony Z5. I enjoyed using the phone. the candy bar form factor just fits my liking. I replaced the phone because I wanted just to use 1 phone for my 2 numbers. The phone was handed down to my wife and eventually my daughter. Getting bloated, the battery I mean. After years of use the battery bloated and the battery capacity now is just a fraction during its glory days. I consulted with Sony Center by Email on how much was the battery replacement ~800 Php for the battery. So I called up the authorized service center in Cebu and told me it will set me back for more than 2000 Php because they need to send the phone to Manila.…
