I have been a software engineer a long time, but I just realized that it is not software that I am really fond of. Actually it is creating something and ironing out any problems with what I created.
Last Oct. 29, I need to take care of my kid while my mother attends to some emergency at the province. I was watching my kid playing minecraft on her laptop. A Dell Inspirion 3168 which was not intended to play games., So it gets to hot and she needed to raise it up using a make shift stand out of corner bump guards.
I have some excess wood from my snack table project (more on this later)., Why not make a laptop stand out of it. Laptop is 11.48″ x 7. 95″. The wood is 1/2″ crate plywood. Using my circular saw, I cut the following:
- 1pc 2.5″ x 11″
- 1pc 1.5″ x 11″
- 2pc 1.5″ x 6″ (base)
I created pocket holes and joined the pieces by pocket screw. This was not really a good idea because base is narrow and it moves around when I screwed them together. Anyway after assembling and sanding everything, I finished it with white paint.
Nov.1 the crate plywood was really one ugly monstrosity, I decide to re make using 3/4 plywood I found from the old house.
